Hades and Isaac are pure roguelites with a lot of depth in the combat, and CotL's depth comes within the cult management systems. The game leans more into the building sim aspect and the roguelite combat is there to supplement helping you build your cult. But currently, this feels like a chore to play and it should be great fun. Maybe that’s expected but when you get to 6 cult members which doesn’t take long, I simply do not have the amounts needed to keep them happily fed. I want to be able to play the dungeon part on my terms but I feel constantly rushed to get done so my damn cult isn’t in shambles.Īnd you really shouldn’t be having cult members dissenting after 20 minutes if play - especially when you do not have access to prison OR murder, and have just been introduced to rituals but can’t afford them. If you are gone from your cult for like 10 minutes, the world has fallen to pieces. My biggest one is that there simply is not enough time in a day to play this game properly.
